The Democratic Governance for Development (DGD II) project continued to support youth involvement in the political process with a conference on political participation attended by over 100 participants. The conference was organized to develop an engagement platform between youth civil society organizations and youth leaders of political parties and to validate the Nigerian Agenda on youth political participation.

As a result, the Nigeria Inter-Party youth forum was formed, which will enable youth to advocate from a strong unified position. The participants also developed an agenda on youth political participation to serve as an advocacy tool toward the 2015 general elections.

DGD II is a joint donor funded project managed by UNDP in support of deepening democracy in Nigeria. The project is funded with contributions from the European Commission (EC), the UK Department for International Development (DFID), the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
